Lenire Treatment for Tinnitus Relief
Lenire is a clinically proven device designed to alleviate tinnitus symptoms.
Use it conveniently at home while receiving support from certified audiologists to manage your tinnitus more effectively.
How does Lenire work?
The device plays sounds from headphones and provides gentle pulses to the tongue via a Tonguetip. The sounds and pulses work together to retrain your brain. You pay less attention to your tinnitus reducing its impact on your day-to-day life.
Northwest Speech and Hearing Center is among the first certified providers of Lenire treatment in Chicagoland!
What is the device?
Headphones
Bluetooth headphones, which are provided, deliver customised sounds to activate the
auditory nerve to the brain.
Tonguetip
The Tonguetip, specifically designed to treat tinnitus, sits comfortably in the closed mouth.
Tiny electrodes on the Tonguetip deliver mild and safe energy pulses to the surface of the
tip of the tongue.
Controller
A lightweight handheld device that controls the timing and intensity of the treatment. You
can start, pause and resume the treatment session, adjust the volume of the sound, and
adjust the level of the tongue stimulation.
The settings are customised by your healthcare professional to suit your tinnitus after an
assessment to make sure you’re suitable.

What is the research behind Lenire?
Lenire is the first device of its kind to receive a grant of approval from the FDA to treat tinnitus.
This follows a large-scale clinical trial designed to meet the FDA's requirements during which 83% of patients recommended Lenire for the treatment of tinnitus. The largescale trial's results were consistent with real-world evidence from 204 patients*.
Relieving tinnitus with Lenire: Damian’s Story
"My hope with the device was to try and reduce the level of tinnitus back to a level where I was comfortable, like prior to when I had the ear infection and from using the device that’s where I am now, I’m back to a situation where my tinnitus is much less prominent, much less distracting. The tinnitus did affect my interest in music because you say to yourself what’s the point if I’m not hearing properly. I can now go back to doing things that I wasn’t able to do over the past few years – writing and recording music. Going on the results I have I would recommend it."
Relieving tinnitus with Lenire: Karen’s Story
"The tinnitus started in the the latter end of 2018, I didn't actually know what it was, I'd never heard of it in my life before. It was like being in Manchester airport and (hearing) the sound booms of the plane going, and it was just it was just stuck in my head all the time (...) My tinnitus now is at a level (where) I just take no notice of it. I just found, I don’t hear it. I just don’t hear it all, so for me that Lenire device has been a lifesaver."
